This exhibition evokes a mixture of nostalgia and technology infused to produce a beautiful showcase called Hyperflux by Williams Chechet.

We took a trip to the Retro Africa gallery at Atelier Hotels Abuja Nigeria, and for 15 mins away from the city center, it really transports you to a place of peace and tranquility. The Hotel has a nice bar where you can wait while your friends assemble or as a post-gallery experience. Littered by neon lights, the gallery inspires thought even before watching the art.

Hyperflux by Williams Chechet is a solo exhibition which explores the intimacy of the African identity. With individual portraits of black and white intricately created art, the pop of colour truly gives a shock factor which your senses cannot comprehend. And that is the beauty of this exhibition.

Williams took the most basic concept of art which is the human portrait, and put a spin on it by going deep into who we are as the Africans we once knew, pure, full of culture, rich. The people who we see ourselves in. We are beautiful and we are Africans.
Williams was born in Kaduna State Nigeria and has been creating for years. It is refreshing to see all his hard work and creative expression explode in the form of an exhibition.
